No rate limit, at any tier
A key is metered by credits, not by frequency: no per-minute or per-day ceiling on the API for anyone, free tier included. The one limit on the site is the playground's 6 calls a minute for visitors without an account; accounts holding credits skip it. Batch sizes per tier are in the table above.
How Jev credits are spent
A credit is not a call. A request costs ceil(input_tokens / 1,000), with a floor of one. On our own measured fixtures a support ticket with three questions runs 539 input tokens, so it costs a single credit; an 8,000-character English state, about 2,000 tokens, costs two. Output tokens are free because Jev generates none.
Nothing here renews. Each pack is a single payment: no plan to cancel, no card kept on file by us, no monthly charge to notice later. Buy another when you run out, or do not.
The free grant is spent first. Every account gets 5 credits a month, and those are used before anything you have paid for — the free half is the half that expires, so spending it first is the arithmetic that favours you rather than us.
Refunds and what you are buying
Card payments go through a merchant of record, Waffo or Creem — whichever the checkout page shows you before you enter anything. Card details never reach this site. Packs are final sale: purchased credits are not refunded, used or unused, so try the API on the monthly credits before buying. A duplicate charge, or credits that never arrived, is always put right. Failed requests are not charged, because the charge is settled from the token count in a successful response.
What you are not buying is Jev itself. This is our endpoint, our rulesets and our quota on top of TypeSafe's API. If you want the model directly, the waitlist is free and every ruleset here publishes the exact official call it makes.
Jev credits: common questions
How is Jagent pricing different from the official Jev API?
TypeSafe bills its API by input tokens. Jagent sells one-time credit packs: one credit covers each started 1,000 input tokens, with a minimum of one per judgment request. Accounts receive 5 free credits a month; purchased credits do not expire. An LLM-powered generation step can have a different credit charge, as the relevant tool explains.

Is there a Jev subscription?
Not here. Jev credits come in one-time packs, and buying another later adds to the balance you already hold; nothing is scheduled to charge you again. TypeSafe's own price for Jev is per input token, covered on the pricing page.
How do I check my balance?
Signed in, the badge in the header shows what is left, and the dashboard splits it into this month's grant and purchased credits, with every purchase listed. From code, GET /api/keys with your key returns the same figures, and each successful API response reports what that call was charged.
How do I sign up?
Sign in on the API access page, then create a key there. No card is asked for. Buying a pack while signed out runs through the same sign-in and returns you to the pack you chose.
Are these TypeSafe's own Jev credits?
No. They work only on this site, and the jv_live_ keys that spend them are rejected by TypeSafe's host. A key from TypeSafe itself comes from its early-access waitlist, issued in batches; OpenRouter and Vercel AI Gateway also carry Jev, billed through your own account with them.
